2010 World Cup TV Commercials From ESPN
ESPN has released two soccer videos to promote its coverage of the 2010 World Cup. Both videos (pictured above) are available on YouTube and will presumably be shown on the ESPN network between now and June to promote the TV network’s coverage of the 2010 World Cup, held in South Africa.
Both commercials feature music by U2. One commercial has Martin Tyler recalling some of the most dramatic World Cup moments since his first World Cup in 1978.
The other 2010 World Cup advert features a highlight reel showing some of the biggest names in the sport.
Thanks to Alexander Green for tipping us off about the videos.

My only complaint is that those songs are 10 years old. Surely good music has been released in the last decade.
i think both of these spots have been running on ESPN fairly regularly for the last few months…
These have been airing on ESPN for quite some time.
I haven’t seen them before. But I don’t really watch ESPN much except on Saturday mornings and Monday between 3-5pm
Still, they’re great commercials.

whats the name of the song?? please
the name of the song is “City of Blinding Lights” by U2
on the espn ad where they talk about how to get world cup soccer on your phone if you text a number, they use a song and i really want to know what it is
The song is “Love F1-11 Missile” by Sigue Sigue Sputnik. It was one of my favorite songs from the mid-eighties. So much so that I ran a BBS in the mid-to-late 80s (before there was the Internet) and the name of the site was “Sputnik.”
